Montserrat Torrent

Life gave me a wonderful present a night of May in 1992.

A phone call. A voice I do no know. “I’m Montserrat Torrent and I would like to make you a proposition. I have to give a concert at the Basilica de l’Escorial, close to Madrid, and I would like to include works with the oboe. What do you think? Could it sound good? Do you want to do it?”

After that concert, in a cicle where there were names such as the Berlin Filharmonic or pianist Daniel Baremboin, we initiated a collaboration that lasted for more than ten years, and that allowed me to play in such special places as la Catedral de León, Basílica de Pnferrada, Ciclo Internacional de Organo (Madrid), Santuario de la Bien Apreciada (Cantabria), Iglesia de Santa Lucía de Santander, Catedral de Barcelona, Basilica de Santa Maria del Mar, Oratori de Sant Felip Neri, Monestir de Santa Teresa de Vic, and always with great audiences. But most of all, playing music with one of the best organ interprets in the world.

The CD we recorded with Discant d’Euroconcert allows me to remember a musical and personal relationship I will always keep with me.
